FLORIDA — The FDA has enhanced a recall over shredded cheese that Publix, Aldi, Walmart and Target sell.

They have recalled a list of shredded cheese made by Great Lakes Cheese Co. Inc.

Thirty-one states, including Florida, as well as Puerto Rico are affected by the recall.

The recall is due to the possibility of biting down on some metal fragments that accidentally wound up in the packaging.

The FDA initially issued the recall in October, and recently moved it up to a Class 2, the second-highest level.
