The Michigan State Police is asking the public for help in identifying a man whose body was found on the shore of Lake Huron between Cheboygan and Rogers City this past week.

Alpena Post MSP troopers were dispatched to a home in Ocqueoc Township in Presque Isle County, about 30 miles from Cheboygan, after receiving reports that a man was found on the shore of Lake Huron, according to a news release from MSP's Seventh District .

The man's body, found in an area near Raven Drive off U.S. 23, may have been at the scene from three months to three years, MSP said in the release.

Police said foul play is not suspected, but the medical examiner's investigation is ongoing.
