Local backers have stepped in with a temporary reprieve for a Scottish golf course under threat of closure.
The stay of execution will buy time for club representatives to hold exploratory discussions with the local authority regarding the facility's future. The club is also pressing ahead with efforts to encourage visitors to join members playing in what is said to be one of the country's oldest winter league competitions.
Craigie Hill Golf club was left in "serious jeopardy" in September when a planning bid to cut the historic course from 18 to nine holes , along with the construction of a sports and community hub and 175 new homes, was rejected by Perth and Kinross Council on the grounds of being contrary to the local development plan.
