Following a presentation to the Duluth City Council and the subsequent media coverage regarding the former Lester Park Golf Course and the path forward, I feel it’s necessary to make a recommendation.

I write this as a citizen of District 1 in eastern Duluth and as someone who has studied this issue for over two years. I was chairman of the mayor-appointed Lester Park Golf Course and Recreation Working Group but am not representing the group here. I did not appreciate how I personally was portrayed this past summer, and I feel compelled now to set the record straight regarding the Lester Park property’s future.
