One of the best times of the year in high school sports is officially here, National Signing Day.
Wednesday, Dec. 3, marks the first of two opportunities for prep football players to take the next step in their career, signing their National letter of intent to play football at the collegiate level. In Lafayette Parish and its surrounding area, almost any day can be signing day as schools are loaded with college-level talent.
At the early signing day period, a handful of athletes have locked in their choice for where they will play at least their first year of college football. The area is home to some of the top recruits in the boot state and, Wednesday, they will join some of the top programs in college football.
