Former Disney star Miley Cyrus confirmed her engagement to Maxx Morando on Monday, showing off a chunky gold engagement ring while attending the premiere of “Avatar: Fire and Ash.”

During an interview with ABC News , Cyrus opened up about her relationship with Morando, the drummer for the band Liily, and how he proposed to her during a recent trip to Japan.

Cyrus said she “of course” said yes to the proposal, adding that her fiancé “did good” when it came to picking out the ring.

“I am not easy to surprise, because I love to control every situation. And I had completely surrendered,” Cyrus told the media outlet. “I actually had never gone to Japan, which, I did that purposefully. I wanted one place in the world that could be my special place that I saved for me.”
