A hit-and-run incident has claimed the life of a tow-truck operator on Highway 401 near Cedar Creek Road in North Dumfries.
Oxford Ontario Provincial Police said on Wednesday, at about 7:18 a.m., a tow-truck operator was hit by an unknown vehicle while assisting a motorist in the westbound lanes of the highway.
The tow-truck operator was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have closed the westbound lanes of Hwy. 401 between Cedar Creek and Oxford roads, to investigate the incident.
