Late in the recruiting process, a big school came calling for Collin Stare.

West Virginia extended an offer to the Mechanicsburg star senior, already committed to a school, first as a fullback and eventually as a defensive lineman.

But just after a week, right before he was set to go down and visit the Mountaineers, the offer was pulled.

That reinforced everything Stare thought from the start—that his original commitment, Central Michigan, was the place he was always meant to be. And he made that pledge official on Wednesday.

“I don’t know if I would have committed or not, or anything, and I was definitely interested in West Virginia,” Stare said. “But I think my heart was always at Central Michigan.”

“[That saga] definitely solidified how I feel about Central Michigan.”
