(Gray News) – More than 1.5 million bags of shredded cheese are being recalled because they may contain metal fragments, according to the FDA .
The recalled products were sold under dozens of brand names at Target, Walmart, Aldi and other major retailers nationwide.
The cheese originated from The Great Lakes Cheese Co. Inc. in Hiram, Ohio.
The recall affects various brands of shredded mozzarella cheese, shredded Italian-style cheese, shredded pizza-style cheese, mozzarella and provolone shredded cheese blends, as well as mozzarella and parmesan shredded cheese blends.
If you have any of these products, the FDA urges you to throw them away or return them for a refund.
