A little more snow is heading our way just in time for Chicago’s end of day commute.

A period of snowfall, just “a coating to a half an inch,” is on its way, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Gino Izzi.

The snow, including possibly freezing drizzle, will begin in the early afternoon and reach into the early evening, he added.

Though it’s not going to be anything major and the roads at the moment remain pretty well treated after the recent major snowfall, motorists should still be very careful .

“It doesn’t take a whole lot to make it much worse,” Izzi said of the snowfall affecting motorists.

As temperatures hover around 28 at midday, they will drop sharply Thursday, with highs only expected to be about 18 degrees and the low about 7, according to the NWS.
