A car fire on the New York State Thruway caused major traffic delays on Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 3. 

The fire broke out on the southbound side of the highway between Exits 15 and 14B in the Suffern area, prompting a large emergency response, The Monsey Scoop reported. 

According to the outlet, crews from the Hillburn Fire Department, Tallman Fire Department, and the New York State Police arrived quickly and worked to bring the blaze under control.

The fire has since been contained, and no injuries were reported, the outlet said.

Drivers in the area experienced significant delays as emergency crews operated on scene and traffic was diverted around the incident.
