WATERFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - Emergency crews are responding to an incident in Waterford on Wednesday afternoon.

First responders are currently working to repair a water main break in the area of Spithead Road and Stone Street, the police department said.

The public is asked to avoid the area at this time.

Officials said all southbound traffic is being detoured to Stone Street and northbound traffic onto Mullen Hill Road.

No further details were released.
