BLACKMAN TWP., MI — A man seen being arrested outside Northwest Early Elementary School trying to open the door was not trying to force his way in while fleeing police.
What was seen as a suspect fleeing officers in front of the school Wednesday morning, Dec. 3, was actually a cascade of events that started as a simple traffic stop, Blackman-Leoni Township Public Safety Director Darin McIntosh said.
“People are really blowing this incident out of proportion,” McIntosh said.
Officers were posted near the intersection of Lansing Avenue and West Parnall Road waiting for a suspect who frequents the area. The suspect was wanted on a felony warrant for domestic violence, McIntosh said.
