Thomas Markle, the estranged father of Meghan Markle, has been admitted to intensive care following an emergency operation. The 81-year-old was taken to hospital in the Philippines on Tuesday after falling seriously ill at home. His son, Thomas Jr., revealed that his father underwent a three-hour surgery on Thursday and is now facing another procedure to remove a blood clot.

Thomas Jr. recounted the urgency of the situation, stating, "They raced us by ambulance, with the sirens going, to a much bigger hospital in the centre of the city. My dad has undergone emergency surgery." He expressed concern for his father's health, noting that doctors indicated his life was in "imminent danger" after several scans.

In a heartfelt plea, Thomas Jr. asked for global support, saying, "I would ask everyone around the world to keep him in their thoughts." Thomas Sr. has a history of health issues, having suffered two heart attacks prior to Meghan's wedding to Prince Harry in 2018, as well as a significant stroke in 2022 that left him unable to speak for several months.

Samantha Markle, Thomas's other daughter, commented on the toll that recent pressures have taken on their father. She stated, "He is a strong man, but he has been through so much. I am praying that he is strong enough to survive this. My father has been through two heart attacks, a stroke and an earthquake. I hope he can pull through this."

The family’s strained relationship with Meghan has been widely reported since her marriage to Prince Harry, leading to an estrangement that began in 2018. As Thomas Sr. continues to fight for his health, the Markle family remains hopeful for his recovery amidst ongoing challenges.
