WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI - Members of the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners have accused the sheriff of creating a “culture of fear and intimidation” as the board moves to yank control of the office’s Human Resources department.
“The pattern and severity of the concerns communicated to the board really demanded immediate corrective attention,” said Board Chair Katie Scott. “That’s about the most I can say.”
The board is set to introduce a resolution to transfer control of four HR positions from the sheriff’s office to the county’s own administration, according to an agenda published ahead of its regular Dec. 3 meeting.
