Community members are stepping up to help a staple on the streets of Rochester this holiday season.
Known to many as the "Second Street Waving Guy,” Joe Johnson has been a fixture on Second Street in Rochester, wearing eccentric costumes and waving an American flag. It's a tradition that has gone on for nearly two decades.
Over the years, Johnson has become beloved by the community, garnering his own social media following. He has even been featured in publications from Mayo Clinic and on the local news.
As the holiday season approaches, Rochester resident Dean Riggott is renewing his push to raise money for Johnson, which he has done for the last eight years.
