Chattanooga firefighters rescued three puppies from a house fire that officials say was intentionally set in East Chattanooga on Wednesday afternoon.
The fire broke out around 2:05pm in the 900 block of Arlington Avenue after smoke was reported coming from the home. Green Shift crews arrived within minutes and found heavy smoke before launching an interior attack and primary search.
Firefighters quickly located three dogs inside and brought them to safety. The blaze was brought under control in less than five minutes, and no injuries were reported.
Units from CFD, CPD, Hamilton County EMS, and McKamey Animal Center responded. Engine 4, Engine 5, Ladder 5, Engine 15, Squad 1, Battalion 1, Battalion 3, and CFD Investigations were all on scene.
