SHELTON, Conn. (WFSB) - The U.S. Postal Service has relaunched Operation Santa, a national program aimed at helping ensure children receive gifts during the holiday season.
At the Shelton Post Office, local businesses participated by adopting letters from children and purchasing items from their Christmas wish lists.
Operation Santa allows children to write letters addressed to Santa, which are then uploaded to the USPS website.
Volunteers can browse the letters and choose one to fulfill.
Recent letters included a request from 4-year-old Riley for a Disney Princess baby doll and another from Benjamin asking for a candy machine.
Andrea Hayward of Logicbroker, a Shelton-based company, helped deliver gifts on behalf of the business.
