PLAINFIELD, Conn. (WFSB) - An 83-year-old woman was hospitalized with minor injuries Wednesday afternoon after being struck by an SUV while crossing a street in Plainfield.

The crash happened around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Railroad Avenue and Norwich Road, according to the Plainfield Police Department.

Gloria Chase, 76, of Moosup, was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe northbound on Norwich Road when she struck Phyllis Oddo, 83, of Plainfield. Oddo was walking eastbound across Norwich Road near Railroad Avenue when she was hit by the passenger-side mirror of the Tahoe.

Oddo was transported to Norwich Backus Emergency Center for evaluation of suspected minor, non-life-threatening injuries.
