EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - New Michigan State football coach Pat Fitzgerald had a whirlwind of a first day in charge of the Spartans program.
In the moments after his introductory press conference — unseen by the public — Fitzgerald took a hand-in-hand walk with his wife, Stacy, for his first visit to Spartan Stadium since accepting the job.
Hours prior, he was greeted by Sparty upon arrival at the airport — an interaction that his kids got a kick out of, he told reporters after his press conference.
“Yeah, that was pretty neat. My boys were pretty fired up. They’re like, they’re Sparty! I’m like, you guys are in high school and college, relax,” Fitzgerald joked with reporters.
Fast forward a few hours, and Fitzgerald paid a visit to the Breslin Center for the Spartans’ win over Iowa
