CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Cedar Rapids Police are investigating after credit card skimming devices were found at two Family Dollar stores. The devices were removed on Tuesday from registers at the 901 1st Avenue SW and 1531 32nd Street NE locations.
The skimmers may have captured data from the magnetic strips on credit and debit cards, potentially allowing unauthorized access to accounts. The extent of the compromised information is currently unknown.
Customers who used debit or credit cards at these locations between November 27 and December 2 should check their accounts for any unauthorized transactions. If any are found, they are advised to contact Cedar Rapids Police at 319-286-5491.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
