Marion County Schools and Monongalia County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay Thursday, officials announced.

The delays come as a special weather statement from the National Weather Service warns that light snow is expected to develop and spread south across the region after midnight. Forecasters say minor accumulations of less than an inch are possible, but cold surfaces may create slick conditions on untreated roadways, potentially affecting the Thursday morning commute.
