ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —

The City of Albuquerque's Solid Waste Management Department will be extending their fall curbside green waste collection event through Friday, Dec. 12.

The event, which kicked off on Monday, gives residents a free and convenient way to dispose of seasonal yard debris.

The city states that residents can set out leaves, grass, brush, and trimmings at their curb for no additional charge on their regular collection day. All green waste must be placed curbside by 7 a.m.

The city asks residents to follow these guidelines:

All green waste must be placed in trash bags.

Exception: Branches may be set out unbagged.

Branches must be cut into 4-foot lengths, bundled, and secured tightly.

There is no bag limit, but each bag must weigh 40 lbs or less.
