A winter storm is moving through New Mexico, bringing snowfall and creating challenging driving conditions across the state, with more snow expected into Thursday morning.
The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) has deployed plows to clear the roads. "We will continue to be out there around the clock," said a spokesperson.
Drivers are advised to maintain a safe distance behind the plows. "If you are driving behind a plow, just give yourself a few feet so that, that material that they're spreading kind of has an opportunity to get out on the ground."
The snow began falling Wednesday afternoon in the East Mountains. KOAT saw snow plows on roads in Tijeras since 2:30 p.m. local time on Wednesday.
