HILLIARD, Ohio — With Hilliard’s population projected to climb by nearly 17,000 residents over the next three decades, city leaders have launched a comprehensive housing study aimed at determining what types of homes the community needs — and where they should go.

About 40 residents braved cold temperatures Wednesday night for the first public meeting on the study, which is being guided by a 10-member Housing Steering Committee and the consulting firm Community Scale. The study is a result of the city’s 2023 comprehensive plan and is intended to shape long-term housing policy.
