NORFOLK, Va. — An expected storm system could bring snow and ice to roadways in Hampton Roads early Friday morning.
It could potentially create hazardous driving conditions.
Virginia Department of Transportation Senior Communications Specialist, Tim Kelley, spoke with 13News Now about what the department is doing to get ahead of the storm and what motorists can expect on the roads.
Kelley said he expects Friday to be their crew's "warm-up round" for larger storms potentially to follow in the new year.
He said they have been preparing gear and crew since summer, and he believes they are ready to hit the ground running.
