Police are investigating the mysterious deaths of a couple at a Spanish holiday hotspot.

The couple was found "semi-naked" and badly wounded at a home on Spain's Costa Blanca shortly after 10am yesterday morning, with officers just releasing details. The man suffered a head injury and the woman sustained wounds to her chest and limbs. The woman is said to have still been alive when emergency services arrived before sadly dying shortly afterwards.

The male victim died around a week ago, based on an initial forensic examination reported by local media, who describe the couple as having been found "semi-naked".
