UAPB 63, ILLINOIS-CHICAGO 62

Quion Williams' free throw with 15 seconds left gave the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff the lead for good as it held on to win at the Credit Union One Arena in Chicago.

The victory was the first of the season for UAPB (1-8), which was in control for large portions of the game. The Golden Lions held a 35-26 halftime cushion and led 46-36 with less than 15:37 left in the game before Illinois-Chicago (4-4) went on a 22-7 run over the next 10 minutes to take a 58-53 lead.

The score was tied at 62-62 following a basket by the Flames' Jayce Nathaniel with 43 seconds remaining. Williams was fouled 28 seconds later, he missed the first of two free throws before nailing the second to put UAPB ahead.
