SMITHFIELD – Sen. David Tikoian secured $5,000 in legislative grants to help fight food insecurity in the community. A $2,000 Legislative Grant was awarded to the Food Pantry at the Smithfield YMCA. Another $3,000 legislative grant was awarded to Smithfield Department of Human Services.

“These grants will actually help members of our community battling food insecurity, but also utility bills, such as gas, electric and oil,” Tikoian said.
