FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — The long-awaited Federal Way Link Light Rail extension opens Saturday, Dec. 6 , bringing the state's largest transit system that much closer to connecting Seattle and Tacoma.
The extension brings the 1 Line eight miles further south from Angle Lake in Tukwila, connecting residents in south King County and north Pierce County more closely to popular locations already accessible by transit. These stations will support connections between other regional transit services, like ST Express, King County Metro and Pierce Transit, providing easy transfers between the light rail and buses.
Officials with Sound Transit said they expect these new stations to serve between 19,000 and 24,000 riders every day.
Here's how long it will take on the light rail to get to some popular
