A New Orleans jury convicted a man late Wednesday of murder in the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Ryan "Rylo" Williams Jr. in front of his family's home in Gentilly in 2023, after the alleged driver for the killing testified against him.
Kobin Wright, 31, was found guilty on counts of second-degree murder and obstruction of justice after the jury deliberated for about 90 minutes.
Wright's attorney, Harry Daniels III, argued that his client wasn't there for the killing in the 3600 block of Franklin Avenue, only in the same car afterward, along with the state's star witness, 27-year-old Derrick Theriot, who allegedly drove the stolen silver Rav4 that police identified.
