LINCOLN, Neb. —

Lincoln police said one person died and another is injured after a shooting at a gas station Thursday.

Officers responded to a call regarding multiple shots and multiple people being shot inside the Casey's located near South 13th and E streets around 11 a.m., Lincoln police said.

One man had life-threatening injuries and another man, believed to be an innocent bystander, had non-life-threatening injuries when officers arrived at the scene, investigators said.

Lincoln police said that based on a preliminary investigation and witness statements, there was a disturbance between the shooter and the victim, who died at the hospital.

Officials said the shooter stayed on the scene, surrendered his firearm to officers and is cooperating with the investigation.
