LAFAYETTE — Applause filled the community room this afternoon as Homestead Resources officially opened the Jeffersonian Apartments, a new 50-unit affordable housing complex designed for seniors 55 and older.

The project is the latest response to Lafayette’s high demand—and ongoing shortage—of senior housing. Homestead Resources, a local housing nonprofit, led the project with Executive Director Marie Morse at the helm.

Before the ribbon cutting, Morse was presented with several certificates and recognitions. Speaker after speaker highlighted her long-standing influence in the community and her commitment to creating not just housing, but connection.
