A report was issued from the National Weather Service on Thursday at 12:41 p.m. for heavy snow until 1:30 p.m. for Schoharie, Schenectady, Albany, Rensselaer and Columbia counties.

"At 12:41 p.m., an area of heavy snow was over Altamont, or near Rotterdam moving southeast at 40 MPH," explains the weather service.

This includes the following highways: Interstate 88 between exits 24 and 25. Interstate 90 between exits 10 and 25a. Interstate 890 between exits 2A and 9. Interstate 87 between exits 21A and 7. Interstate 787 between exits 1 and 9.

Expect heavy snow in the following locations:

Albany, Colonie, Guilderland, and Voorheesville around 12:45 p.m.

Delmar around 12:50 p.m.

Rensselaer and Menands around 12:55 p.m.

East Greenbush around 1 p.m.

West Sand Lake around 1:05 p.m.
