BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating a deadly stabbing that police now say was “domestic in nature.”
The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office identified the man who died as Robert Gibson, 44.
According to police, the stabbing happened just before 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 2, in the parking lot of the Lakeside Villas Apartments on Weldwood Drive in Baton Rouge.
Police said two people, one of whom was his ex-girlfriend, were detained early in the investigation.
Detectives later learned Gibson was battering his ex-girlfriend when she armed herself with a knife and stabbed him, according to police.
This remains an active investigation.
