ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — DeKalb County officials say they can move forward with a “transformative” regional transit project thanks to a $625,000 grant.
On Thursday, county officials announced that the Atlanta-Region Transit Link Authority had approved the grant through the Georgia Department of Transportation’s 2025 Transit Trust Fund Program (TTFP) , which provides state funding for transit projects.
The grant provides the county with the remaining funds it needs to avoid delays in advancing its “Master Transit Plan,” which will guide “long-term strategies essential to the region’s growth,” county officials said.
The plan prioritizes connecting underserved communities with the rest of metro Atlanta and the Southeast.
