Several nations have withdrawn from the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest following the confirmation of Israel's participation. Ireland, The Netherlands, Spain and Slovenia have declared their intention to boycott the musical event, a decision made public after the general assembly in Geneva on Thursday where the contest's future was discussed.

Irish national broadcaster RTE announced it will neither broadcast nor participate in the song contest, citing the tragic loss of lives in Gaza as the reason behind its decision. In a statement, RTE clarified: "Following today's EBU winter general assembly in Geneva at which Israel's participation in the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest was confirmed, RTE's position remains unchanged.
