Authorities in Newburyport, Massachusetts, continued searching for a missing person in the Merrimack River Thursday, but did not find him. The search, which Newburyport police say is now a recovery mission, was suspended and will resume Friday.
The U.S. Coast Guard said it received a notification at 7:57 a.m. Wednesday that a person was in the water off the coast of Newburyport. They said the person's boat was tied up at a dock when it got loose, and the person entered the water in an attempt to recover it.
