OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - A local collectible card shop owner is donating proceeds from an upcoming expo to help children in the Ottumwa community during the holiday season.
Empire Cards owner Jessica Fisher is contributing money from card sales to the Wapello County Shop with A Cop program. The collectible cards can range from $1 to hundreds of dollars.
“We love to give back to the community and again we’re a very family friendly shop and so it means a lot to us to be able to help out this wonderful cause,” Fisher said.
The Shop with A Cop program pairs children with law enforcement officers to buy gifts for themselves and their families. Last year, around 149 children participated.
