LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
Louisville Metro Police Department says an officer was injured in an early-morning crash in downtown Louisville, and the other driver involved is facing charges.
It happened just after 3 a.m. Friday at Second and Market streets, in front of the Kentucky International Convention Center.
According to police, the officer was responding to a burglary call with lights and sirens activated when his cruiser collided with another car.
Officers already on scene gave first aid to both victims until EMS arrived.
Police arrested 32-year-old Anthony Lewis following the crash. He is charged with third-degree DUI (aggravating circumstances), reckless driving, failure to maintain insurance, and possession of an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle.
