DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - The sounds of carols, brass and strings will fill the Northland this weekend as The College of St. Scholastica’s annual holiday concert, “O Holy Night,” returns.

School officials say the concert is a large-scale showcase for the college’s choral and instrumental programs with more than 100 students performing.

The director of choral activities, Richard Carrick, said it’s an immersive experience for the audience.

“We transform the cathedral space with lighting, and it’s already a beautiful, sacred space to begin with,” he said. “But with the lighting and the ambiance, it just comes to life.”

Beyond the music, organizers are using the performance to support local nonprofit Chum.
