The first winter weather of the season hit Central Virginia Friday morning, bringing over an inch of snow or more to most areas. Temperatures remained at or below freezing most of the morning, keeping precipitation to all snow. Schools in the area were closed for the day. The main highways and interstates remain passible, but there are concerns about slippery conditions on secondary roads.
