LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Jeffersonville Police Department is reminding the community of how they can keep themselves and their gifts safe this holiday season.
If you're buying gifts online, police said you should look for the "lock" next to the website URL to ensure it is a secure connection and to avoid shopping on open WiFi networks.
If you do buy online and are waiting for the delivery, police recommended you track your packages and try to be available for the delivery. However, they suggested either requiring a signature or choosing in-store pickup if you can't be there in person.
Some general safety tips police recommended while traveling include parking in well-lit and traveled areas, and to avoid being overwhelmed with packages. They also said to be aware of your surroundings and
