CLEVELAND, Ohio - Eight-year-old Upton McWilliams smiled as she finger-knitted a bracelet, becoming one of the youngest participants in the Community Craft Circle at Praxis Fiber Workshop, an art school in Cleveland’s Waterloo Arts District.
The weekly gathering brings together crafters of all ages, from the very young, like Upton, to seniors, creating an intergenerational space where handmade projects serve as a common language.
The Community Craft Circle meets every Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the workshop, 15301 Waterloo Road. The gathering welcomes participants who bring their own projects, whether knitting, crocheting or other fiber arts.
“After a while, your fingers get sore, but at first, it is very soothing,” Upton said. “I have always loved to play with yarn, but I wanted to
