AKRON, Ohio - Three long-term highway ramp closures are scheduled to begin Friday evening as part of work to replace the Ohio Route 8 bridge over the Cuyahoga River Valley in Akron.
The Ohio Department of Transportation said the following ramps will be closed through late fall 2027:
This work is part of a $158 million, five-year project to replace a bridge that was built in 1953. The project is scheduled for completion in 2028.
About 114,000 vehicles a day move through the area.
