The remains of a man missing for almost 18 months have been discovered in farmland.

In an update tonight, police confirmed that the remains have been formally identified as belonging to Lincolnshire man Trevor Blanchard, who vanished in June 2024.

Officers confirmed that the man's family have been informed about the discovery. Police do not believe there to be any suspicious circumstances, or evidence of foul play. They asked for Mr Blanchard's family to be given privacy "as they come to terms with this tragic news".

A force spokesman said: “We are saddened to confirm that human remains have been located on farmland in Halton Holegate on November 22. These remains have been formally identified as belonging to 61-year-old missing man, Trevor Blanchard.
