Large police presence on Longmoor Lane

An 81-year-old woman has died in a hit-and-run incident in Fazakerley . Emergency services were called to Longmoor Lane at around 4.15pm on Friday, December 5, following reports a dark-coloured vehicle had collided with a pedestrian near the junction with Third Avenue.

The woman, who lived locally and is believed to have gone to a nearby shop, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Aintree Hospital. She sadly died a short time later.

The vehicle and its driver have not yet been found. Officers are examining local CCTV to identify the car, which may show signs of damage from the crash.

Police said several witnesses are assisting police with their inquiries, and officers have been conducting house-to-house searches in the area. Detectives
