Santa Fe has no youth facility to detain juveniles awaiting trial.
It does not have enough services for young people in crisis.
And there are not enough ways to divert children from entering the system.
To figure out ways to address these problems, half a dozen elected officials from in and around Santa Fe met with roughly two dozen community members Wednesday evening to discuss several upcoming or existing initiatives to improve the systems designed to serve the region’s most at-risk youth.
