ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -Children were able to prepare for Hanukkah at the Home Depot in Brentwood for the 17th year in a row.
The Habad of Greater St. Louis held the annual event on Sunday.
The event lets children and their parents build and paint their own menorah.
Rabbi Yosef Landa spoke about the importance of having an event as this during this time.
“Very important, particularly at this time that we celebrate and demonstrate Jewish pride out in the open,” Rabbi Landa said. “That is the ... antidote to whatever bad stuff is out there. Do it in a big way, in a strong way, in a happy way.”
Hanukkah begins next Sunday night and runs for eight days.
