NEW YORK CITY – A unique watch designed by filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola sold for nearly $11 million at a recent auction, making it one of the most expensive watches ever sold.
Phillips Auction House reported that the F.P. Journe timepiece, known as the F.F.C., was sold on Saturday after a competitive bidding war on Park Avenue.
Coppola collaborated with the Swiss watchmaker in 2014 to create this distinctive watch. It features an openwork design and a gloved hand that changes with the hour.
The identity of the buyer remains unknown.
